Survive the return to work soon? Survive the return to work! September 2009Announcing a new workshop for mums returning to work soon. Survival tips and all the information you need to have that smooth transition between work, home and help you and your family adjust well to the changes....whether this is your first baby or third! Each baby added to the family brings with it a whole set of new challenges. Hitting the headlines today - Caesar rates going up! Is this news to any of us involved in birth and babies? Not really we have more than double the caesar rate that the World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends of 15% this accounts for the true emergencies and necessary caesars (ie. done for the right reasons ) We have a rate of approximately 31% much higher in private obstetrician care than in public hospital/midwife care. This is strange as the high risk pregnancies should be in the public system, so you would expect their caesar rate to be higher???? Breastfeeding and The Australian Police Australian women police officers forced to 'pay back' their expressing time.Looks like the police force not up to date with Public Service provisions for breastfeeding officers!! seems like they have to use toilets to express??? Reminds me of trying to breastfeed my eldest in the UK - 26 years ago when I was forced to use toilets or changing rooms in department stores. Wake up Australian Police Force we should be moving forward not 26 years backwards!!! Open invitation the the Australian Police Service or any other interested employer, to engage Babycoach services to bring their workplace feeding/expressing provisions up to scratch! |
